Beginning August 22, 2009, Hamblen County Department of Education will only accept professional applications for employment on-line through Career Portal .

On-line Application Instructions


•    We have a new process that allows you to apply for posted jobs by submitting an on-line application.  This convenient on-line application will be replacing all paper applications.  It will be done in two phases.  Phase one will begin on August 22, 2009.  This phase is for certified applicants only.  Phase two will begin November 2, 2009, and will include all non-certified applicants.  All active applicants must complete the on-line application.  Paper applications for all certified applicants will be discarded on September 22, 2009, and all non-certified applications will be discarded on December 18, 2009.

•    You will need to complete your entire application and submit all the required documents in order to be considered for any position.  Documents that are required in order for your application to be considered complete are as follows:

•    For Teacher Applicants:
➢    College/University Transcripts
➢    Teaching License(s)
➢    Praxis Scores
➢    3 Sealed Reference Form

•    For All Other Applicants:
➢    Proof of Education
➢    For Teacher Assistant applications you must submit proof of  highly qualified status.  This consists of submitting either college transcripts with at least 48 hrs. college credit or proof that applicant has taken and passed the paraprofessional exam.  These documents must be submitted with the teacher assistant application.

When submitting your application on-line, upload the required documents to the Personnel Department.

•    Sealed references may not be uploaded.  They can be mailed, hand delivered or
      faxed to 423-586-7760.

•    Current vacancies are listed on our web site www.hcboe.net and can be viewed by clicking on employment opportunities. 

You can apply for posted positions.  To apply for positions that are posted in the future you will not need to complete a new application.  Just log back on to the system and follow the process just described.

•    If you do not have access to a computer or scanner please call the personnel office at 423-585-3711 to schedule an appointment to use our workstation that has been set up for applicant use.
