The Hamblen County School System is constantly striving to provide necessary social services to ensure that students are provided the opportunity to attend school in a manner which is conducive to acquiring a well-rounded education. The school system provides vision and hearing screenings for all students. When indigent students are in need of medical treatment, professional vision and hearing tests, eye glasses, hearing aids, emergency dental treatments, as well as needed shoes and clothing, etc., such assistance is sought from community organizations and numerous civic clubs. The men and women in the community who make up these organizations and clubs are always willing to help indigent students as well as all other students in need of social services.
