Special Activities
Library Helpers: There are eleven fifth graders who give up their playtime once a week to help in the library. They shelf books, straighten shelves, and assist with kindergarten classes. They are a huge help!!
Book Fair: Each year our school has two book fairs. Our fall book fair is October 8-12 and our spring book fair will be in March. This is a great way for your child to purchase books from a huge selection.
Accelerated Reader:Last year we began implementing the Accelerated Reader Program schoolwide. Students choose a book on their reading level, read the book, and then take a computerized comprehesion test on the book. Each test consists of 5 to 10 questions and points are earned for each test passed. Each grade level has a points goal set and rewards will be given in the spring. Second grade goal: 30 points, third grade goal: 40 points, fourth grade goal: 55points, and fifth grade goal: 65 points.
Character Christmas Tree: Each year students are encouraged to decorate the library's Christmas tree with handmade ornaments that dipicts a book character or book theme.

These kindergarten students enjoyed the "Reading Road Trip" at the book fair in March. Below are pictures from Favorite Book Character Day.
