Hillcrest Elementary

Family Resources

Mrs. Joyce Ray is our assistant principal and family resource director. Mrs. Ray poses with the kids to celebrate Chic-Fil-A Hillcrest spirit night.

If you need assistance or information, you may contact her at 423 - 585 - 3799 or 423 - 586 - 7472.

Hillcrest is fortunate to have a family resource center located in our school which provides support services to students and families on a daily basis. Mrs. Joyce Ray is the coordinator of our family resource center and assists parents in obtaining information and locating necessary resources. She also assists parents in providing support and referral services, offers parent education workshops and classes, and makes home visits as needed. A parent library and a crisis clothes closet are available in the family resource center.

Annually, each Hillcrest family completes a family survey and needs assessment so that programs and services may be planned to appropriately assist our families. A family resouce directory was developed and distributed to Hamblen County Schools and community service providers as an easy reference to assist everyone in locating available resources in Hamblen County. You may access this directory at:

The family resource director works closely with the staff and parent volunteers in planning projects that encourage partnerships between the home, school, and community. Parents are encouraged to become involved in PTO projects such as open house, fall fun fest, holiday gift shop, and other PTO fund raising projects and various school activities.

Community support is also a very important component of our family resource center by providing services for our students and families. We would like to thank our school's partners in education:
