West High Counselors

The West High Counseling Office is staffed with three licensed School Counselors and one secretary: Gwen Ledford - Department Chairperson, Melanie Justis, Jill Reuschel, and Pam Goan - secretary. The counseling Department seeks to assist students with academic, career, and personal/social development. These areas of development are addressed through curriculum resources, individual planning, responsive services, and program support.
The Counseling Department also coordinates and/or assists with a variety of tasks vital to the total school program such as: registration, scheduling, testing, Safe and Drug-free activities, Open House, workshops, orientations, and career programs.
West High Counselors will track the following students during their four years in high school. The counselor/student ratio average is 1:462.

Students who desire conferences or information should contact their counselor either by coming to the Counseling Office on the first floor near the Main Office or by calling the office at 585-3792. Parents may also schedule a conference with a counselor by calling the office. The Counseling office is open during regular school hours (7:50 - 3:20) during the school year.
