MISSION STATEMENT

The Morristown West High School Library Information Center is a fundamental and integral part of the West High School Educational Community.  The library's mission is to continually encourage academic excellence and integrity by providing curriculum support to the staff and students and creating a safe atmosphere that fosters self-esteem, creativity, and enthusiasm for life-long learning.  In order to become productive, giving, and valued members of their future adult communities, students are encouraged to become self-disciplined, self-directed, productive members of their Trojan High School Community. 

The program in the Morristown West High Library Information Center is based upon units of work cooperatively planned with teachers and teacher-librarians.  It is linked with information literacy skills, the information process and students learning to evaluate and synthesize information.

The West High Library staff aims to not only provide a complete, physical information environment to staff and students, but also a virtual library resource which can provide staff and student users with relevant information 24/7.
