6th Grade
All content areas follow the Tennessee Curriculum Standards.

English
English classes focus on grammar skills, language mechanics,
usage, and the six traits of writing.
 
Math
Math classes focus on geometry, measurement, and
proportionality, as well as, algebra, fractions, and statistics.
 
Reading
Reading classes focus on the following genres:  fiction,
non-fiction, drama, poetry, and myths.
 
Science
Science classes focus on life science, earth science, and
physical science. Students develop critical thinking skills
and connect science concepts to the real world.  They
also learn to keep accurate records, create and analyze
graphs, conduct research, and design investigations.
 
Social Studies
Social Studies classes study world history from prehistory
through history as it is happening now.
