
The Introduction to Technology program is designed to give students an introductory experience to technology and its applications in the work place. The class uses a modular learning environment with each module having a ten day, self-directed curriculum as the teaching method. The technology modules are intended to give students the opportunity to interact directly with a variety of technologies representing those commonly found in business and industry. The technology modules are:
- Audio Communications: Produce a Radio Program
- Computer Applications: Create with Graphics Software
- Engineering Structures: Design and Build a Bridge
- Aerospace: Build and Fly Airplanes
- Television Broadcasting: Be a News Program Anchor
- Television Production: Film a Television Program
- Computer Aided Drafting: Draw Technical Drawings
- Computer Machining: Write Programs to Cut Out Parts
- Research and Design: Design and Build a Model Racing Car
- Manufacturing: Build a Wall Shelf
- Automotive: Work on Cars and Engines
- Robotics: Program a Robotic Arm
- Fluid Power: Make Things Move With Air
- Telecommunications: E-mail, Fax, Fiber Optics, Internet
- Bio-Technology: Technology and the Human Body
- Electricity / Electronics: Make Things Go with Electricity
