Congratulations!

 

You have a unique opportunity to use a new product that will allow parents to view their children’s school information via the web. The product, ParentCONNECTxpä will enable parents to access pertinent information about their child’s attendance, grades, homework assignments, discipline, health records and much more using the secure ParentCONNECTxp web portal.

 

Please note that one school in the district may choose to put some information in the ParentCONNECTxp system while another school may not.  If you have a question about information availablitity at an individual school, please contact the building principal.

 

To begin:

 

All you need to use ParentCONNECTxp is access to the internet, Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater or AOL version 5.0 or greater, or similar browser,  and an e-mail address.

 

You can access the Hamblen County Department of Education’s ParentCONNECTxp website at the following URL:  http://connect.hcboe.net

 

Here you will see the introduction screen that will allow you to login to your child’s secure information or to begin the sign-up process to establish your secure login information.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Registering for access the first time

 

 

Please only register once.  You do not need to re-register each school year.

 

Begin by clicking on the                             button

Once you click on the register button,  your browser will give you a dialog box informing you that the information being sent over the web will be secured.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Once you click the login button, your browser will give you a dialog box that will allow you to confirm the certificate that will allow you to view the secured information.

 

 

All information coming from and going to the ParentCONNECTxp web site is secured and cannot be viewed by anyone else on the web.

 

Be sure to fill in all information including your e-mail address. This is especially important so, in the future, the ParentCONNECTxp system can communicate with you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once you have submitted the registration form, your private ID and password will be at your youngest child’s school within 7-10 business days.  Please visit the front office of the school, with a photo ID, and sign for the account information.  Questions about the ParentCONNECTxp system can be addressed to Harold Jones at Harold@hcboe.net  or the Department of Instructional Technology at (423) 581-3144 and they will be answered as quickly as possible.

Once you have registered and get your password you will be able to enter using the

  button.

 

 

 

Type in your User ID and password and click the login button again.

 

Your browser may display a message about transmitting secured information.  Click Yes to continue.  All information coming from and going to the ParentCONNECTxp web site is secured and cannot be viewed by anyone else on the web.

 

 

 

ParentCONNECTxp will give you access to important student information such as Student Info, Assignments, Grades, Attendance, Discipline, and School Information. Simply choose the pencil with the information that you would like to see first.

 

The main screen will list the children for which you have access.  To view specific information about a particular child, use the pencils to the left of the screen.  To switch between

 students, use the “Choose Student” drop down menu at the top left of the screen.

Information Updates

 

The information displayed on the ParentCONNECTxp website should be updated nightly.  Please note that there is a 24 hour turn-around time for information to be updated.

 

 

ParentCONNECTxp Navigational Hints

 

Once you are on the system, knowing where to find information is important.  Here are a few hints that should help you get started.

 

 

 

On the left hand of the screen you will find the navigaitional pencils.  Clicking on the pencil icon will take you to various locations within the system.
 

Assignments Pencil Icon

 

To access Assignment Information for your child, click on the Assignments Pencil Icon.  You can change the drop down menu from “Today and Tomorrow” to several choices including “This School Year”.

 

To sort assignments, click on the column heading that you want to sort the assignments by.

If you contact your child’s teacher via email,

please include the following:

*      Your Full Name

*      Your Child’s Name

*      The Class Your Child Is Enrolled In

The following codes will help you in understanding the attendance history information:

 

School Info Pencil Icon

The school Info Pencil Icon will give you general information about your child’s school such as school address and phone number.

Learning Pencil Icon

 

The Learning Pencil Icon is currently not used by the Hamblen County School System.  The information for this section comes from a product that the school system currently does not use and has not purchased.

 

Additional ParentCONNECTxp Hints

 

There is no Log Off button or option for the site.  Simply close your internet browser and you will be logged off the system.

 

Locked Out – If you type your user ID and/or password incorrectly for three tries, your account will be locked and you will receive a message stating that your account has been locked.  Your account will automatically reset itself after 30 minutes.

 

You MUST have a valid email address listed in your account if you are subscribing to the Alert Notifications.  To verify or change your email address, subscribe to Alert Notifications, or change your password; click on the Settings button in the top right corner of the screen.

 

 

 

 

To change your password, type the new password in the “New Password” field at the upper left side of the web page.  Type the new password a second time in the “Confirm Password” field.  Click on the “Apply” button at the bottom of the web page to submit the change.  The next time you sign on to ParentCONNECTxp, you will use the new password.
