Beta Club meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month

during the school year at 7:30 a.m. and 3:05 p.m. in East High Library.

Members must attend each meeting to remain an active member.



Attention prospective members
Deadline for applications and payment of dues
is September 10, 2008.

Requirements of members
Maintain 3.5  GPA
  Complete service projects by deadline
Attend 1 meeting per month
Maintain good character



Members should check the Beta bulletin board
outside the cafeteria for updates.

Meeting Dates

Attendance at meetings is important in order to be an active member.
Members must attend all meetings.
 MEETINGS ARE HELD MORNING AND AFTERNOON.
THERE IS NO WAY TO MAKE UP A MISSED MEETING.

Induction of new members will be announced soon.
 Parents are invited to attend the induction ceremony.


 
    Applications for new members will be accepted through September 10th
for students in grades 10-12 who meet the requirements for membership. All dues must be paid by September 10, 2008.

    Regular attendance at meetings and participation in service projects
 are required to remain an active member
and to receive special recognition during graduation ceremonies.

Attention Senior Beta Members
You may pick up an application for the

 National Beta Club Scholarship in the library

during the month of October.

Two applications from East High

will be selected to enter the national competition.

 All completed applications

must be returned to the library

 by November 10th, 2008.

Test Information
Applicants must submit test scores from the SAT or ACT. Students taking the SAT can release their scores by indicating code 9867 on the "Reports to Colleges and Scholarship Programs" section on the SAT Registration Form. Those students who take the American College Test (ACT) can release their test scores by indicating code 9867 on the Registration Folder. Alternatively, students may report their test scores by both filling them in on the application and by submitting an official school transcript that includes the scores.

  Service Projects Pictures

    Beta Club is a national organization whose membership is open to students who maintain a 3.5 grade point average and who maintain worthy character, good mentality, credible achievement and commendable attitude.

  The organization's aim is to stimulate effort, reward achievement, promote those qualities of character that make for good citizenship, and to encourage and assist its members to continue their education after high school. 

    Beta Club is involved in many service projects this year.  These include volunteering at Mountain Makins, donating candy to the Boys and Girls Club for Halloween, collecting canned food items for Daily Bread, filling shoe boxes for "Operation Christmas Child", teacher appreciation, sponsoring a Callaway Child at Christmas.
