I do follow the following priorities in order.
Until I am up to date on the items on the top I will not be able to work on the things on the bottom.
Network / Servers, Fire Alarms, Telephone, Intercom Systems, and Security Systems up and running normally
Administration Computers up and running
Administration Software functioning normally
Library Computers for Library Circulation
Reaissance Place server is up and running
Lab Computers that are required to teach class (ie Middle School Key Boarding, Technology)
Teacher Computers up and running
Audio / Visual Equipment in working condition
Teacher Software functioning normally
Student Computers and /or Labs up and running
Student Software functioning normally
THINGS TO TRY BEFORE A WORK ORDER IS PLACED
IN ORDER TO SERVE YOU BETTER:
*Take Notes - time of day, what software were you trying to use, write down the EXACT error message, is it random or at a certain time/place/event
Computer Login Problem:
IN ORDER TO SERVE YOU BETTER:

*Check all connections, Network especially.
*Shut Down and restart the computer.
*Make sure that the username and password you are using are correct.
Formats include either first initial and last name (FLast, flast) or first name with a space then last name (First Last, first last)
Default password is usually your first initial and last name with no spaces in lowercase
*Wait 24 hours. Sometimes things just fix themselves overnight.
*If you get any error message when you login to the computer and / or your dock or documents does not seem to have the correct icons or items. LOOGOUT AND LOG BACK IN until you do not get and error. This occurs when the server is busy handling too many requests for it to keep up.
First Class Login Problem :

*Check all connections, Network, especially.
*Shut Down and restart the computer
*Wait for 24 hours and make sure it wasn't a temporary outage by the state or local services.
*Make sure that the username and password you are using are correct.
Formats are first initial and last name (FLast, flast) This information is by your LEGAL NAME as listed in HCDOE Directory.
Default password is usually "temporary"
First Class Error Message :
IN ORDER TO SERVE YOU BETTER:

*Under the First Class Menu under Collaborate ... check that fc.hcboe.net is setup as the server in the login screen.
*If not click Advanced and a it will spring down with more options.
*Click Setup in new window move to the server field and type "fc.hcboe.net." Then click Save.
***DO NOT SAVE PASSWORDS OR SET TO LOGIN AUTOMATICALLY the server will NOT allow this and may not let you login.You may save your username however.
Spell Check Problems or Updating your First Class Client:
*Got to www.firstclass.com ... Click Download First Class Client... Choose your operating system type (usually OS X for Macs)
First Class Updates

There is a trick to getting the update to run if it is giving a message about the First Class being locked.
*First run the installer until it gives you the error message.
*Then double click Macintosh HD icon on the desktop.
*Then double click the Applications folder icon. Find and drag the First Class icon that is in the Applications folder to the trash.
*Bring the First Class installer back to front and finish running and you should not get that error.

*Read the help folder on the first class desktop - Client Help folder then Web Publishing folder
Integrade:

*IF YOU EVER GET AN ERROR MESSAGE IN INTEGRADE "JUST CLICK NO" as a rule of thumb.
*Check all connections, Network especially.
*Shut Down and restart the computer.
*Wait for 24 hours and make sure it wasn't a temporary outage that is corrected by nightly maintenance routines that run on the servers.
*Make sure that the username and password you are using are correct.
You are emailed this information around the first of the year automatically, you can change your password.
I do not have access to usernames and passwords for Integrade
Printing:

*Restart the printer including any JetDirect Boxes that are connected to it.
*Shut Down and restart the computer
*Check Print Que to make sure that printer and or print que is not stopped, or a print job is on hold
This is found under System Preferences , Print & Fax.
*Fan paper to loosen and get rid of static built up during manufacturing
*Then report all errors codes and software that you are having problems printing from.
Printers not feeding paper
*Take a 3M Scotchbright pad and some alcohol and clean paper rollers fan paper to loosen and get rid os static built up during manufacturing.
Internet:

ClassXP

*Check all connections, Network especially.
*Shut Down and restart the computer.
*Wait for 24 hours and make sure it wasn't a temporary outage that is corrected by nightly maintenance routines that run on the servers.
*Make sure that the username and password you are using are correct.
Format is last name first initial with no spaces (LastF)
Default password is "changeme"
Lock Ups:
*If your computer is locking up frequently, I need to be made aware of this (along with notes of when, where, how, why, error messages)

Magnoxox or Toshiba TV's Will Not Turn On or have a green screen
*Leave them unplugged over-night , most of the time they will reset and work the next day
Helpdesk Reporting
Go to helpdesk website.
If you cannot login using your email login name, click the forgot password and enter your email name and a new password will be sent to your email.

When entering a ticket under the name field enter part of your last name then hit THE TAB KEY and list you can choose yourself from will come up.
Macintosh will not boot
OS 9 or Earlier -Insert Operating System CDROM that came with it, restart hold C key down run Disk Tools
Nortons Disk Doctor, restart hold C key down run Disk Doctor Zap PRAM - restart and hold Option, Apple, P, and R until boot chime rings 3 times
For OS X Zap PRAM restart and hold Option, Apple, P, and R until boot chime rings 3 times.
For OS X not booting or making it to the login screen. You can boot into single-user mode by holding Apple S during startup. This will bring you to a plain prompt screen with a flashing curser after a whole bunch of Linux startup statements. Type "fsck -f" and hit Return. When it completes it will come back to a flashing curser. Type "reboot" and hit Return.
Can't open Excel Spreadsheet or Word Document on Macintosh?
Start Appleworks. File Open, File type, and choose Excel(.xls) or Word(.doc)
Or install open source software called NeoOffice from www.neonoffice.org

Download and Install open source software called OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org

install, update, and run the scan.
