Fall News
Just like a pumpkin on a vine, Kindergarteners have grown so much this past month! We have already been introduced to ALL the letters and their sounds! Letter Experts need to continue to practice to read their expert book. We also want students to read nightly for their book logs. We have set a goal for each child to read (or have read to them) 200 books by then end of April. In order to make that happen, each child needs to turn in a book log at least twice a month! We also have prizes for students when they reach small goals along the way.
During the month of October, we will be studying the following themes: My Skeletal System, Colors, and Mammals. We also practice sorting in math. Students will learn to write the numbers 0-5 and recognize the number words for zero through five.
We want to remind you that we have a field trip scheduled for October 16th to Myer’s Pumpkin Patch. We will be attending with our friends in Second Grade! This will also be Mr. Watkins last day. He has been a great asset to our classes!
