Migrant Services

The Hamblen County Schools Migrant Education Program is designed to meet the needs of migrant students and families in Hamblen County. Migrant families are those families who moved within the last three years for the purpose of obtaining employment in a qualifying work area. Frequent moves place migrant students at high-risk for failure and migrant education programs are designed to remove barriers to school enrollment, attendance, and achievement of migrant children.

Luz Reynolds serves as Hamblen County's ELL/Second Language Parent Liaison & Migrant coordinator.  She has office hours at the HCBOE office building Monday through Friday each week. She can be reached by phone at 586-7700 or by email .  Ms. Reynolds is available to assist migrant families and the school personnel who work with migrant students and families.
