Extended School Program

The last day for ESP after-school care will be

June 4, 2021.

The summer program will be June 14-July 23, 2021.

The Extended School Program is a safe, affordable, DOE licensed facility where your children will be cared for by a well-trained staff. Students that are ages 4-12 years of age and attend a Hamblen County School are eligible for childcare.  ESP offers afternoon snacks, homework assistance, games, crafts, self-directed and group participation activities.


After School


All Elementary Schools within the district

Hours of Operation:

3:00 pm- 6:00 pm Monday – Friday

Students must be picked up promptly at 6pm


$10 registration fee per child after registration has been accepted

Full-Time Weekly Rate                                   $45 (one child)                        $25 (each additional sibling)

Part-Time Weekly Rate                                  $27 (one child)                        $15 (each additional sibling)

Drop-In Rate (4 days per month)                 $36 (one child)                          $20 (each additional sibling)



The Extended School Program offers after-school care to Pre-K students at the following locations:


Manley Primary

Russellville Primary

Union Heights


Early Dismissal Days

ESP will be providing services on early dismissal days for the 2020-2021 school year. 

Students that do not regularly attend ESP may attend Early Dismissal Days for the cost of $10 per stay.

 You must register your child prior to the early dismissal day that childcare is needed.


Summer Program/Non-School Day


2020-2021: Russellville Intermediate and Manley Intermediate

Hours of Operation:

6:00 am- 6:00 pm Monday – Friday


$10 registration fee per child after registration has been accepted

$18 per day for 1 child and $13 per day for sibling

There are additional costs for activities and field trips.

Summer activities include: field trips, arts and crafts, games, playground, gym, and continued learning through science, literature, community involvement. The Summer program and Non- school days are offered at one location.


Inclement Weather
If Hamblen County Schools close early due to inclement weather, there will be NO ESP services available.



For Summer 2021:

Children that attend summer school at Manley Intermediate and Russellville Intermediate may come to ESP from 3 p.m. -6 p.m.

All accounts must be kept current to avoid services being discontinued.

ESP accepts Child Care Certificates through Families First. Please contact the DHS office at 423-585-1444.

Parents will be notified of school closures by School Messenger (a notification system that will call, email or text parents.
